SEAFORD CHRISTMAS MAGIC

Seaford Town Council will be hosting this year’s extravaganza on Saturday the 3rd of December from 10.00am through to 5.00pm in Seaford town centre.


The event will combine the sounds and smells of Christmas with entertainment and attractions for all residents of Seaford and beyond to enjoy.

Live musiceclectic mix of vocalists, musicians and other contemporary performances, keeping the Christmas spirit upbeat with a range of singing styles. Christmas Magic unplugged is being hosted within St Leonards Church, starting the day at 10.00am with ‘Messy Church’ followed by acoustic music, choral music, and songs.

The street market stalls will be found this year in Broad Street and High Street. 

For families with young children, Seaford Library will be hosting Storytime at 11.00am and 2.00pm with 30 minutes sessions. No booking is required but spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. A family hub is being held at Life Church from 12.00pm to 3.00pm, with free Christmas activities including face painting and a nerf gun shoot range. Seaford Youth Forum is holding a stall with Christmas Biscuits to decorate and take away. The stall can be found in the High Street. Seahaven FM will be open throughout the day, offering the chance to experience a live radio station and a chance to enter a draw to win a Roberts Radio.

Look to the Stars with lantern-making workshops at the Mercread Youth Centre with SCIP (Sussex Contemporary, Illustrators & Printmakers), from 10.00am to 3.30pm. Glow in the dark paper, tapes and collages will transform the lanterns into shooting stars and planets.

Archway Choir will start the celebrations of the Christmas Light switch on at 4.00pm, with singing of Christmas carols at the top of Broad Street, while the Earthquake Drummers will begin their drum rudiment at the top of the High Street, letting partakers of the Lantern Parade line up, to travel down High Street, turning right up Broad Street, where they will meet the Mayor of Seaford and Rotary’s Father Christmas at the top of Broad Street, who will turn on Seaford’s Christmas Lights at 4.45pm.

Seaford Community Cinema will be showing Encanto at the Barn Theatre, This is a PG-rated film for all the family to enjoy. Booking advised. Tickets are available online at www.seafordcinema.org and in the Tourist Information Centre at 37 Church Street, Seaford www.staylewes.info

Road Closures will be put in place from 5.00pm on Friday the 2nd of December 2022 to 12 Midnight on Saturday the 3rd of December, for Broad Street and Upper High Street.

Seaford Town Council encourages travel to the town centre by foot, cycle, or public transport. For those shopping trips that do require a car, Lewes District Council has arranged for free parking in four of its Seaford car parks for the day of Christmas Magic. The Seaford car parks included are located in Saxon Lane, Sutton Road, Richmond Road and West Street.
