As part of the continuing investment in Newhaven Port and its services, NPP has today taken delivery of two second-hand Pilot vessels from Estuary Services Ltd. of Ramsgate. The Pelorus and the Pathfinder, originally built for Trinity House Pilots, have a top speed of 21 knots and a fuel endurance of 14hours at top speed.

Seven intrepid staff from NPP collected the boats this morning and arrived back in Newhaven at 1400hrs this afternoon.
 
A strong westerly breeze put the boats through their paces, but Harbour Master, Dave Collins-Williams, said he was extremely impressed with the performance of the new boats and their crews.
