The community led plan for Newhaven received a clear majority in last Thursday's Referendum, with 83% voting Yes to supporting the plan.

Newhaven Town Council claim that residents will now have more of a say on how the town will grow and change between now and 2030. The Council also claim that the town will receive a higher percentage of funding from developers to be re-invested into the town.

A total of 1306 votes were recorded, with 1105 voting Yes, 292 voting No and 9 rejected.

The total number of votes recorded represented 14.74% of the registered electors.
