SEAFORD BEACH GUIDE

July 29th, 2020.

Lewes District Council has produced a beach guide to help keep visitors to Seaford seafront safe during the holiday season.

The guide has been put together in partnership with Seaford Town Council, Newhaven Port and Properties and the Environment Agency and provides helpful information about local amenities and safety advice, including guidance on social distancing.

Councillor James MacCleary, Leader of Lewes District Council, said: “The school holidays are starting and I’m sure lots of families and friends will be enjoying the beach in Seaford and making the most of the good weather.

“The purpose of the leaflet is simply to help ensure people have a great time and most importantly, a safe time when they visit.

“It is essential that we all follow the guidance on social distancing and respect others using the beach, the coronavirus remains a real threat and we must continue to be vigilant.”

Copies of the Seaford Beach Guide can be picked up from the Tourist Information Centre in Church Street, Seaford and can be downloaded in pdf format at www.lewes-eastbourne.gov.uk/assets/beachguide

The guide also includes travel and car parking information, availability of public toilets, safety advice when entering the sea and the rules for boats in the area, plus much more.

Councillor Stephen Gauntlett said: “We’re lucky to have such a wonderful seafront in Seaford and I’m always happy to see people flocking to the town in the sunshine. These are uncertain times and the quickest way for us to put this dreadful virus behind us is by following the guidance on social distancing and acting responsibly

“This Seaford Beach Guide has all the information you need for an enjoyable and safe visit to the seaside.”
