SEAFORD BEACH CLEAN SUCCESS

November 6th, 2017.

The half term week saw three beach cleaning events clear the waste that Storm Brian had left on the beaches in Seaford. The events were organized as part of the Surfers Against Sewage initiative.

Seaford beaches are a popular location for tourists and residents who enjoy a walk along the promenade, fishing and swimming and admiring the views.

The seafront is kept clear through a joint effort between contracted waste clearing services, and a host of volunteers who work on keeping the waste at bay.

Local volunteer and co-organiser Claire Powell said: “What a marvellous turnout. Over 50 people came along over the three days and I am utterly thrilled."

Seaford Town Council is looking forward to hosting further clean-up events, so watch this space for news.
