RECORD THE SOUNDS OF NATURE FOR NEW DIGITAL ART EXHIBITION

August 21st, 2019.

Stuck in the summer holidays with nothing to do? Interested in creative technology and the outdoors? This Saturday, the 24th of August, there will be two Nature Recording workshops at the Seven Sisters Visitor Centre at 10.00am to 12.00pm and 1.00pm to 3.00pm. It is open to all, but under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

You will get to explore the rural settings of the Seven Sisters Country Park, taking sound recordings and video footage of the landscape and wildlife. Learn how to turn your mobile device into a field recorder and have a go at manipulating and experimenting with the content you have collected.

The work you create will feed into a new interactive art installation called Solace, which will be exhibited at The Crypt Gallery, Seaford, during October.

The session will be informal, with the emphasis on having fun. There is no need to have any previous experience - but take your smartphone or tablet (charged), and wear suitable outdoor clothes and footwear.

Other equipment and refreshments will be provided.

The workshops are free, but booking is essential. Visit sparkedecho.org/solace to book online, or send an email to hello@sparkedecho.org or leave a voicemail on 01634 540787.
