Founder of the Havens Community Hub, Paula Woolven, is appearing on the new series of Channel 4's Come Dine With Me from the 9th to the 13th of August at 5.00pm. She takes inspiration for her host night from the Havens Food Cooperative community pantry by using ingredients that have passed their best before dates.

The popular show advertised for contestants from the Brighton and Hove area in April and Paula is joined on her show week by travel manager and part-time comedian Rod, mystic animal communicator Josie, vegan solicitor Hassan and jewellery business owner Sarah.

The Havens Food Cooperative is linked with 12 supermarkets to prevent food waste by rapidly redistributing up to a ton of edible food per week that has reached its best before date and stopping it from reaching landfill. Prioritising lower-income families, local schools, static homes for older people and anyone experiencing food insecurity, Havens Food Cooperative operates from Thompson Road, Denton 365 days a year.
