LOCAL BAND JOINS BATTLE OF THE BOND SONGS

October 7th, 2019.

The title of the 25th James Bond film, and Daniel Craig’s final appearance as the legendary character, has been announced officially as ‘No Time to Die’. The news has spurred a local band to be first past the post in getting a Bond-related song released and, hopefully, into the charts with their ‘Battle of the Bond Songs’ campaign.

40 Shillings on the Drum, who have recently shared festival line ups with Manic Street Preachers, The Hives and many more, have crafted a song that not only reflects the franchise both musically and lyrically, but also stands strong in its own right. Adding to the mix, this groundbreaking track has been produced by Tom Gleeson (Slaves to Gravity, Feeder) and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, The Rolling Stones).

Launching the ‘Battle of the Bond Songs’ campaign on Facebook, the band aim to build support for their song and release it to purchase as a digital download in the same week as the official theme to ‘No Time to Die’, encouraging a chart battle.

40 Shillings on the Drum’s debut album, produced by Tom Gleeson, will be released in 2020.
