SUSSEX DAY CELEBRATIONS

May 13th, 2019.

On Sunday the 16th of June a short ceremony, organised by Seaford Town Council, will be held near the Martello Tower on Seaford seafront in honour of Sussex Day. The event will be running from 11.00am through to 4.00pm.

At 12 noon, Seaford Town Crier, Peter White, will cry ‘The Sussex Day Cry’ followed by a more humorous Seaford version!

The Mayor of Seaford will then raise the Sussex flag next to the Lifeguard huts near the Martello Kiosk.

New for this year, Seaford Town Council has invited local crafters to join the Sussex Day celebrations and they will have stalls on the promenade around the Martello Tower. There are a few places left. If you are a local craft business and wish to have a stall, contact facilities@seafordtowncouncil.gov.uk for more information and booking form.

Sussex Day is traditionally observed on the 16th of June each year to celebrate the rich heritage and culture of Sussex. The event takes place on St Richard's Day, the feast day of St Richard of Chichester, the patron saint of Sussex.
