LOCAL CAFE TO THE RESCUE

November 1st, 2017.

A total of £376 was raised for local community transport charity, CTLA, after Papachino's at the Gateway Café in Peacehaven Big Park stepped in to hold a 'soup and spud' social evening.

After a fashion show had to be withdrawn at late notice in October, Papachino's owner, Nicola Papanicolaou and her staff hosted guests for a homemade soup and jacket potato supper with bingo games called by Newhaven Councillor, Steve Saunders.

Marilyn Nolan B.E.M. and Iris Donaldson were the guest chefs for the evening. Marilyn is the record-breaking champion baker of Peacehaven, having won the annual town 'bake-off' for seven years in a row.

Staff and volunteers from CTLA and Nationwide Peacehaven acted as the evening's waiting staff.

CTLA Community Manager, Paula Woolven, thanked everyone for making the event so successful and raising funds for the front-line charity.
