May 5th, 2017.

Mayor of Newhaven, Steve Saunders writes:

Please find attached, some photographs from my Gala Dinner last Saturday, at the Denton Island Indoor Bowling Club.

The evening was a huge success, raising over £4,000 for me and my partner Sharon's charity fund, providing defibrillators for our community. We had 108 guests for the event, which included Deputy Lieutenants Juliet Smith and Marion Shepherd, Chairs and Consorts of ESCC and LDC, together with Mayors and their consorts from East Grinstead, Polegate, Seaford, Peacehaven and Telscombe.

We had generous support from many local and surrounding Sussex businesses, including: Mike Shorer Fine Jewellery; Sainsbury's; Coop and Coop Funeralcare; The Sunbed Station; Wave Leisure; Theatre Royal Brighton; The Grand Hotel Brighton; Charleston Farmhouse; DFDS Seaways; Eastbourne Theatres; Middle Farm; Newhaven Lifeboat; Padella D'Oro; The Ark Public House; Seaford Health Store; Seaford Musical Theatre; Tools and Tackle; KSD Support Services and; Paradise Park, Newhaven.

1218 Squadron Newhaven Air Training Corps, provided two brilliant Cadets for the evening, that provided escort for the dignitaries and a bagpipe fanfare. Entertainment was provided by singer Gemma Clare-Albrow and Elton John tribute act Sam Hughes, along with our DJ Tom Bonnor. Local Photographer George Taylor, took the photographs on the night.
The Pam, Tracy, chef Yvonne and the staff at the Centre were amazing.

We can't thank everyone enough, for making it such an enjoyable and successful evening.
