NEW SEAFRONT SAFETY SIGNAGE

June 11th, 2020

Seaford Town Council is installing new seafront signage and rescue equipment. Starting this week, the old information signage from Splash Point to the East Arm at Newhaven will be removed and replaced by new and improved signage.

The new signs are larger, clearer to read and include important and useful information:

· Safety advice, with a detailed map

· Points of interest

· Lifeguard information

· Bylaws (e.g. dog ban information)

· Location of sign (for reference in an emergency)

The signs were created collaboratively by Seaford Town Council, Lewes District Council, the Environment Agency, Seaford Lifeguards and Newhaven Port Authority.

The existing life rings will also be replaced with new and improved design life rings attached to the backs of the new signs.

The Town Council advises the public that on the advice of Surf Lifesaving GB, Seaford Lifeguards will not be patrolling Seaford Beach at this time.
