MAYOR'S OPEN GARDEN EVENT - SEAFORD'S SECRET GARDENS

July 20th, 2020

Gardening is always a challenge in Seaford with its fierce South Westerly winds and the recent hot dry spells. In past years, the Mayor’s Open Garden Trails have shown us what can be achieved in spite of our tough climate. It has inspired gardeners and has also raised considerable sums for the Mayors’ chosen charities.

This year it’s your turn to help to inspire and bring pleasure to others. The new Mayor’s Open Garden Event: Seaford’s Secret Gardens is open to all Seaford residents.

For many, the arrival of the Covid-19 virus has meant more days spent in the garden, and more time to appreciate how lucky we are to have the pleasure of a quiet, secure place to live and pass the time. At the moment it is one of the few places we can still meet friends, albeit in a limited way.

Now, through the medium of photographs and video, Seaford Town Council is asking you to share your garden, however large, however small; maybe by virtually join you in your allotment, or in a community garden which you support. You can do this by sending entries which will be showcased on the Mayor of Seaford’s Facebook Page HERE.

Email a maximum of six photos, or a video no longer than two minutes with brief details to secretgardens@seafordtowncouncil.gov.uk by Monday the 3rd of August. Note that there is an email media limit of 25mb.

*All entries are welcome and upon entering media and entry details, permission is granted to Seaford Town Council to use the media and share details to the Mayor of Seaford’s Facebook Page. Entrants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian to enter.
