LOCAL GENEROUSITY HELPS ESTATE AGENTS SUPPORT PEOPLE IN NEED

December 22nd, 2017.

A Seaford estate agency has thanked the community for its kindness and generosity in supporting its campaign to collect much-needed items for a local food bank in the run-up to Christmas.

Since late November, Newberry Tully, in Church Street, has been a collection point for Seahaven Storehouse, which provides food to people who find themselves in tough financial situations.

The foodbank is based at 115-117 Vale Road at Seaford Community Church.

Stephen Newberry, who has been an estate agent in the town since 1987 said: “We are genuinely humbled by the generosity and kindness of people who have dropped in all sorts of much-needed items. Donations have ranged from a couple of tins to large shopping bags filled with non-perishable goods and every single item will make a difference to a local family this Christmas."

Andrew Tully added: “It’s a very worthy cause and I think that’s why people have responded to our campaign so well. It shows that community spirit is alive and well in Seaford and the surrounding areas.

“Seahaven Storehouse is a small charity run by local people for local people and it really is making a big, positive difference to many members of the community.”

The storehouse’s founder, Dawn Woodgate, said: “We are really grateful for the support Newberry Tully and local people have given us. The donations help make Christmas a little more enjoyable for local families and individuals.

“The Storehouse is open between 10.00am-1.00pm on Thursdays and everyone is welcome to pop in and visit us for a cup of tea and to see what we do and how we help people in the Seahaven area.”
