LEARNING, LAUGHING AND LIVING WITH u3a

May 20th, 2021.

Newhaven & Peacehaven u3a will be telling the community about the way older people are supporting each other to learn, laugh and live on u3a Day on the 2nd of June. There will be displays in the Meridian Centre, on Newhaven High Street and at Paradise Park, including examples of artwork, craftwork and photographs of u3a activities in action. Each display will be live for about a week.

Interviews have been filmed with interest group leaders and these, together with videos on outings and events, as well as galleries of artwork and of photographs, will be published during the day on the Newhaven & Peacehaven u3a Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Newhaven & Peacehaven u3a is a self-help organisation for people aged 55 or over who are no longer bringing up a family or in full-time employment. People join to make new friends and enjoy a wide variety of interests at the low cost of £15 a year. Members share their expertise and skills without charge through a system of interest groups. Frequent outings and a monthly programme of speakers are included.

Newhaven & Peacehaven u3a is affiliated with the u3a Trust, the national coordinating charity. Each of the more than 1000 u3as in the UK is a charity in its own right. Each u3a hosts interest groups chosen and run by the members for the members. The subjects are wide-ranging from art to ukulele via bridge and discussion.
