The Havens Connections Café, a project of the Havens Community Hub, has introduced a “Pay It Forward” scheme aimed at supporting those at risk of food insecurity across the local community.

Nestled in the heart of the Havens, and based at the Hillcrest Centre, Newhaven the café is already a welcoming space for all, offering food, a friendly atmosphere, and a commitment to bringing people together. Now, with the “Pay It Forward” initiative, customers can make a small donation when visiting or online to help others enjoy a meal or a warm drink - no questions asked.

This initiative is designed to ensure that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can enjoy the comfort of a hot meal and a friendly environment. The café team discreetly distributes meals and drinks funded by these contributions to those at risk, supporting the community as best as possible.

“We’ve seen how small acts of generosity can make a big difference,” explaied café manager, Julia. “The ‘Pay It Forward’ scheme gives our customers an easy way to contribute to their community while enjoying their own visit to the café.”
