Ferry foot passengers arriving in Dieppe can once again reach the town centre and station by bus. This development has been eagerly awaited by rail campaigners after the previous bus transfer was axed during the Covid pandemic in 2020.

Vic Ient of Lewes Rail explained: “After the Covid crisis ended in 2022, I wrote to Torben Carlsen, the CEO of DFDS and it has taken nearly two years for the bus service to be restored. Over the last 18 months we have chased up DFDS/Transmanche Ferries in Dieppe and I'm pleased to say that, thanks to the support of the local authorities in the Département de la Seine-Maritime the bus service is now reinstated.

“With the service due to be reviewed in December, it is important for it to be seen to be successful over the summer period.”

Bus tickets cost €3 for adults, €1.50 for children aged 4 to 17 and free for children under 3.
