Following an incident of vandalism to the roof of the children’s playhouse in The Hollow play area back in July, South Heighton Parish Council has announced that the roof has now been completely replaced, thanks to help from the local community.

The Parish Council posted a comment about the vandalism on its Facebook page, which resulted in Londis Newhaven immediately offering funding towards repairing the roof. And the support didn’t end there. A donation of materials from Independent Roofing and support from Ide Verde meant that the Council was able to replace the whole roof with a more vandal-proof version.

This display of community spirit and support shows that, once again, good overcomes bad.
