The prizes for the Best of Newhaven Photographic Competition were awarded at Meeching Hall last week by the Mayor, Councillor Graham Amy.

This is the third year the town council has run this competition and this year saw 51 people entered and a total of 162 photos. There were ten categories and people could enter any or all of the categories, but could only submit one photo for each category.

The photos were given to the panel to judge anonymously and they found it so difficult that they couldn’t decide on an overall winner for the competition and chose two joint winners – Kevin Cooper and Martin Sinnock.

All the photos chosen as winners or runners up will be printed on a banner on Riverside.

The prize money was kindly donated by Arrow Tyres, Susmans Beef Biltong, Newhaven Stores, Newhaven Chamber of Commerce, Fludes Carpets, Ingenio Technologies, La Baguette, Tasker Osman, Wave Leisure, Newhaven Fort and Denton Indoor Bowls Club.
